Food Closet
Deacon Bettye Reynolds, Director
Joyce and Pat Paterson, Coordinators
Weekly offerings of food items are collected each Sunday for our Food Closet ministry which provides food to those in need both within the parish family and community. The Food Closet continues year around for needy members of St. John’s and for members of the community. It is available during office hours and on Sundays. Joyce Paterson will be available the last Sunday of the month. For the other Sundays, see Deacon Bettye Reynolds; or during office hours, see April Dobbs.
Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes are individually prepared for 90+ families. Families receive the ingredients for a festive holiday meal.
Food items are donated to local groups who serve hot meals to the homeless. Members of the ministry are working with St. Clare's Catholic Church in helping to prepare a monthly meal at the Methodist Church for the Gathering Inn, a homeless shelter program in Roseville.
