Marriage Encounter - The Episcopal branch of this support organization encourages strong, faithful marriages through weekend experiences in which clergy and lay couples share and model successful marriage dynamics and communication.

Marriage Encounter and Engaged Encounter Weekends are held periodically in the Bay Area and occasionally closer to Sacramento. These weekends teach valuable lifelong communication skills to couples. If you are interested, we can provide dates and locations. There are two weekends coming up: April 11-13, 2008 and October 10-12, 2008.

Marriage Encounter began in Spain in the 1960's for couples with good marriages to enrich their lives together. The name Marriage Encounter comes from a Spanish translation of the word meaning to find or discover. Marriage Encounter came to America in 1967 where the Weekend program was extremely well received. The success of Marriage Encounter led to the formation of programs designed for various faith expressions and expanded worldwide. Since its beginning, over 3 million couples in 45 countries have participated in a Marriage Encounter Weekend.
