Noel's Prayer Shawl Ministry

Years ago, our dear sister, Noel Schively, started making shawls for people who were ill.  When Noel became ill she asked Jenny Newcomb to continue the ministry.  To date we have given out about 1300 shawls; they've been sent all over the United States, the Virgin Islands, and to a soldier in Afghanistan.  They have brought peace and comfort to many people.  We receive cards and notes back from some, who are amazed that people they don't know have been praying for them.

The Prayer Shawl team crochets or knits shawls made from yarn purchased by donations.  The Prayer Shawl Prayer Partners pray for all the people who have received a shawl.  The shawls are then blessed during a Holy Eucharist service, and whenever a need arises, Jenny packages the shawl in a beautiful bag for mailing or delivering to the person in need.  If you would like to participate, the group would love to have you join us in either knitting, crocheting, or as a prayer partner.  Contact Jenny Newcomb.
